Plus with the introduction of Formsnap 3, it has nearly all the same features offered by Formloom ( except Rules ). #FORMSNAP RAPIDWEAVER UPDATE#
PLEASE NOTE! Formloom does come with a companion STACK, but that particular STACK only embeds remote Formloom form into the Stacks page. Last Friday I posted an update that brings three more Stack Elements tutorials to RapidWeaver Classroom. You can even use third-party STACKS inside your form if you need to.Īll stack elements require the Stacks Plugin. Layout of your Forms can also be highly customized on a STACKS page. STACKS can be combined with other STACKS on the same page. Formloom can be embedded into a STACKS page, but it is very limited and cannot be placed however you want.Ī STACK may not be as powerful as a PLUGIN, but it is vastly more flexible. A PLUGIN functions independently of any other product(s). The primary difference between the 2 products is that Formloom is a PLUGIN and Formsnap is a STACK.Ī PLUGIN is only thing on the page, it cannot be combined with other RapidWeaver Add ons. Hopefully it answers your question.īOTH products produce web forms on your RapidWeaver web page(s). I will attempt to answer this question with this page. They are going to love this! It also means that UserAccess is more comprehensive than the obsolete Lockdown plugin.I get asked all the time what is the difference between Formloom and Formsnap. Also very nice, and an additional login is not necessary anymore. Anyone else seeing these two pages do not have access to these functions.

That means the production planner just make his/her login and then automatically have access to those sensitive functions. This is now not necessary anymore since I now just use a Stack Protect stack with the relevant user group. It is therefore off course very sensitive, cannot have people messing with those :-) These I have limited access to by manually protecting them with an obscure login system. This a very extensive system that produces production lists for each of the week days, with recipes and total use of ingredients etc. Yes, will do :-) Another very nice thing I discovered by using UserAccess is that on two pages, I have a production planning system, for the weekly planning of how much should be planned for the current week. I can now automatically redirect people to the various pages they are supposed to login to… very nice :-) Formsnap is a modular suite of Stacks elements used for creating web based forms for your RapidWeaver built web site. That means I have most of the functions of the old Lockdown plugin. I mean, if redirect from other groups is hidden by stack protect, then the one revealed could contain some sort of redirect? UPDATE, forget about it, it works with a redirect. I was thinking that maybe a redirect could be achieved when someone from a group login.

Are they going to the wrong page, they will be lead to a “Access forbidden” page that will redirect them to the login page after a few seconds.

Now I just give them the possibility, on the pages they login, to select the page they should go. The only thing I am missing is the possibility to automatically lead different groups to different pages. So I am happy replacing the good old Lockdown plugin with these stacks. It is also really fast to implement using Partials. It is really easy to implement once understanding how it works. BTW I am almost finished implementing UserAccess stack on our company site that has a lot of protected pages.
